I’m no stranger to reimagining classical music in a jazz context, so when Dana Landry asked me to write a new feature for UNC Lab I, I knew Chopin’s Minute Waltz in Db was going to work well. This chart doesn’t burn, it smokes! This difficult chart works surprisingly well, and features the lighting speed of the saxophones, and gives ample feature time for tenor and trumpet. But watch out, the recapitulation features flute and piano and ludicrous speed!
