Samba Juice

Samba Juice is a charming, medium-up samba that has the distinct opportunity to let the bass player shine. This chart goes back and forth between featuring the melody on the electric bass chair, and using the bass to groove in the infectious samba rhythm. Toshi Clinch’s Big Band’s recording on YouTube gives a great example of how the piece moves and sways.
