Vaguely Reminiscent
Composed by Drew Zaremba (as recorded on Two Twos)
Those looking for a modern 3/4 chart need look no further than Vaguely Reminiscent. This long-form, modal piece gives a lot of blowing room to the piano and solo trumpet chairs. The recording from UNT’s wonderful 2 O’ Clock Lab Band under Jay Saunders provides all the style and interpretive information. This is certainly a subtle chart that will have your band exploring the nuances of timbre, dynamic, and phrasing. This chart was premiered by Southlake Carroll’s fantastic high school band in 2013. The chart has been altered slightly from the recording.
