This is a contrafact on one of my very favorite tunes, “Rapid Shave” by Stanley Turrentine. It’s a 20 bar blues (16 with a 4 bar extension), and works well for opening it up for several soloists. Perfect for opening up a concert. Zhuhai is a costal city near Hong Kong where I lived for a couple months – this tune captures some of the busyness and bustle of this amazing place.
